We have been to Ljubljana so many times but never had the chance to go and see Ljubljana castle. It has been always something else that needs doing or fixing and we have been postponing this visit for a long time.

When we bought our house, we saw that in our garden, we have a persimmon tree. The first autumn it gave so many persimmons, and we started thinking, what are we going to do with so many fruits that we don’t like eating?

Passing by a billboard around Dolenjske Toplice, we saw the ad that they will have this festival to mark the apple harvest. We love apples, so why not go and see what Slovenians do at such events?

Our first two winters in the house we bought were very cold. The first thing we did when we got the keys was to disconnect the old hazardous diesel heating system and remove all the ugly radiators and pipes. They looked really awful, but then we did not know the real state of the house roof.

When we bought our house, we didn’t know our future home would be surrounded by a chestnut forest. On our first autumn walk, we saw the chestnut trees and people who were collecting chestnuts. That was such a nice surprise!
